“I recently sent my original backwards-compatible PS3 (CECHA01) to Chad at iKon Technical Solutions for his premium 40nm RSX Frankenstein conversion, along with several other upgrades and preventative repairs. I couldn't be happier with the entire experience!
Chad is extremely knowledgeable and takes a lot of pride in his work. I especially appreciated his attention to detail and willingness to thoroughly test everything rather than rush the console out the door. He spent hours stress-testing the system, monitoring temperatures and power consumption, and fine-tuning the voltages to ensure everything was stable. He also replaced my aging disc drive laser, which resolved an issue I had with PS2 DVD games not being recognized.
Now, even when playing The Last of Us which is one of the more demanding PS3 games, the fan stayed quiet the entire time!
This particular PS3 has a lot of sentimental value to me, and I plan on keeping it forever. While this restoration certainly wasn't cheap, the quality of work and peace of mind were absolutely worth it.
If you're looking to restore or preserve an original PS3, I highly recommend Chad. He knows these consoles inside and out. Thanks for giving my PS3 a new lease on life!”
